Camberwell

Over 100 square metres of wall and floor mosaics and a large sculpture were commissioned by the City of Borrondara in 1997, to adorn the Camberwell Fresh Food Market in Camberwell, Victoria, Australia. This work, made by Enver Camdal and Helen Bodycomb, was removed in 2002 due to extensive structural repairs to the building. The mosaic became severely damaged whilst in storage and so new works were commissioned, in which glass from the original Camberwell Market Mosaics was 're-cycled'. These two new mosaics (seen below) were made by Helen Bodycomb and René Schaefer and were installed at the market in December 2004.
